Eco Fuels season and split logs from local estates, all timber is either PEFC or FSC and we display on the website the actual estates that the timber is sourced from. Our aim is to keep road miles to a minimum, the timber is felled and taken from the forest straight to our yard where the moisture content is brought down to the required level for production.

The split logs are further seasoned before packing into crates ready for your delivery.

Maden Eco Fuels is the wood fuel department of Maden Eco Ltd based in Berwick -upon-Tweed. A family business which began in 1997 by two brothers Simon and Andrew Maden, the company roots are in construction and has developed its expertise from house building to renewable energy products in particular biomass boilers both domestic and commercial.

ACCREDITATIONS

Our Ethos

The ethos behind Maden Eco Fuels is to promote the low carbon production of British wood fuel. We are able to achieve that goal through our low carbon milling facility in Berwick-upon-Tweed.

The mill is powered by 60kw of solar PV and a 25kw wind generator and the seasoning of timber is temperature controlled in our biomass heated drying facility.

Distribution

The distribution network collects from our yard and ship to hubs ready for delivery on local haulage to your front door. The whole process involved the minimum of road miles and movements of the product.

EUROPEAN AGRICULTURAL FUND FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Maden Eco Ltd received support for the purchase of a JCB Loadall & JCB 3CX through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

LEADER is a community led approach to rural development and is seen by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) as an important way of addressing rural needs.

The funding is being made available through the Rural Development Programme for England, which is jointly funded by Defra and the European Union.

North of Tyne Rural Business Growth Service Programme

Has received grant assistance under the North of Tyne Rural Business Growth Service programme to support a project to carry out capital building works to increase the workspace available to the business alongside purchase and installation of additional log processing machinery as well as construction of additional storage facilities for finished product.
